Part of an extraordinary estate with an old Georgian Mansion that’s a luxury treat to stay in, the Mount Juliet course is a lush, American-styled “parkland” course where you can actually hit the ball up into the air (unlike links courses that demand a heavy dose of bump and run shots). No howling ocean winds here, though there are many water hazards. With several very long narrow fairways and an array of highly contoured greens, the course is considered difficult but not unreasonable. The Irish Open has been played here several times
