Keeping up with the O'Reillys
When the word 'Dublin' is mentioned, the immediate images that come to mind are of pints of Guinness, green-clad St Patrick's Day
revellers, and perhaps an old building or two. Modern Dublin town,
though, on top of being the political and economic capital of the
recently-successful Republic of Ireland, is also an up-and-coming
European fashion capital. Very near the birthplace of Hollywood bad-boy
actor Colin Farrell are all the doors you need leading into stores
selling your favourite designer handbags
and shoes, of any colour, including green! Along with the
locally-sourced accessories, you can find imported, high-quality brands
including Christian Louboutin.
Travellers from outside the European Union have the benefit of tax-free shopping when in Ireland for a short period of time. Imagine the discounts on designer dresses
that can be taken home and used to make you the envy of all your
friends. Be sure to visit the city centre to embark on what is sure to
be one of the most memorable shopping sprees of your life. Marc Jacobs may accompany you for a while, if you desire his company. The same can be said for 3.1 Philip Lim, who will no doubt be happy to be on your sophisticated arm walking along the cobbled alleyways of the city.
If this is too high-falutin'
for your delicate tastes, perhaps a stroll through the local markets
will glean a few quaint prizes for your troubles. A pair of gloves made
from local wool,
or perhaps a hand-tooled brooch to match a sparkling hair accessory.
There are plenty of department stores available, as well, if you are
after nothing but a practical grey jumper to accompany you on a walk
across the wild moors later in your holiday. Whatever your delight,
Dublin has it in spades.
